Hemp Biomass Processing Usage

One of the most rewarding parts of the process is taking what you have grown for months and seeing the final product. With so many finished goods possibilities, each it unique in its own way.

OILS

From here the dried biomass is ready to be stored until enough of the biomass has been harvested to allow for viable oil production. Decorticator can be also used to “shuck” the dried biomass, making oil production more organized and efficient. The dried leaves can now be removed from the stalk and stored for later oil use.

SEEDS

Feminized hemp seeds are seeds that only grow female plants. Breeders produce feminized hemp seeds by carefully stressing female plants. When mature female hemp plants are stressed, they produce seeds to help preserve their genetic line. The seeds produced by a female hemp plant contain the same genetic makeup as their mother, including only female chromosomes.

FIBRE

Most processing of fibre is done using a “decorticator.” A decorticator is a machine used to strip the bark/skin off the hemp stalks. The dried biomass is run through the machine’s ridgid crank system breaking the hard outer shell/skin from the stalk and separating the fibres. Creating a workable product for production use.

Hemp biomass that is USDA Certified Organic can be used for the manufacture of CBD Distillate, Isolate, Crude as well as hemp oil used for editable products. For a farmer to become certified organic in Colorado, their fields must be free of any synthetic fertilizers, we use manure or other organic fertilizer sources – which ours is maintained by Certified Organics.

The Conventional hemp biomass does use fertilizer at the beginning of the growing cycle and does not undergo the same stringent inspections or follow the necessary guidelines to meet the certified organic standards. This does not mean that conventional hemp biomass is of substandard quality, taste or freshness, only that Certified Organic is a guarantee to the consumer that the hemp seed grown follows strict USDA Certified Organic guidelines and inspections to guarantee it’s 100% Organic Hemp which some consumers are particular to.
